ONLINE PARENT TEACHERS' MEET

Dates: 22^nd June 2021, 5 PM (6^th Semester Honours)

          24^th June 2021, 5 PM (4^th Semester Honours)

            26th June 2021, 5 PM (2^nd Semester Honours)

Online Parent Teachers' Meets have been organized by the Department of History for the 6^th, 4^th and 2nd Semester Honours students separately on three different days as mentioned above. The aims of the meet with the parents along with their son or daughter are given below:

To discuss on

1. Attendance of each student.

2. Academic Progress of each student.

3. Google classroom assignment.

4. Miscellaneous (on any special issue related to a particular student)

Report

All the Online Parent Teachers’ Meets were held separately on three different days and all the programmes were conducted by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, Head of the Department of History, VJRC. In the beginning of each day Dr. Rakshit delivered a speech to welcome all the respected parents of the students. All the teachers of the department namely Dr. Sutapa Ghosh Thakur, Bishnupriya Bhattacharya, Angira Sen and Suka Bindu were present. 9 students out of 13 were present of 6^th Semester Honours class. 22 students out of 26 were present of 4^th Semester Honours class. 17 students out of 23 were present of 2^nd Semester Honours class. A detailed discussion was held with the parents and the students individually as the students were present along with their parents online. All the five teachers discussed with the parents their opinion, advice as each student was called separately to attend. Parents of the Honours students of 6^th, 4^th and 2^nd Semesters expressed their difficulties if they were facing any as well as their query to the teachers present in the programme. As the teachers were well aware of the specific issue related to each student and prepared the list of the slow learners, it was very easy for them to convey it to the parents and motivate the students.

Resolution:

The overall view of the programme may be expressed as the parents and the students were very much satisfied with the Department of History, the teachers, their teaching, regularity, punctuality, academic programmes, interaction with the teachers etc.

Parent Teachers’ Meet should be held once in a Semester so that the teachers can interact with the parents along with their children. It provides a scope to both the parents and the teachers to know each other and some issues gets revealed very clearly to the parents as sometimes the parents do not get the full scenario of the reality.
