FRESHERS’ WELCOME PROGRAMME (NABIN BARON)

Freshers’ Welcome Programme (Nabin Boron) was organized by Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata, for the 1st Semester Honours students on 22nd December 2021 by the 3rd and 5th Semester Honours students at 1.30 pm. The programme was inaugurated by an inspirational speech delivered by our Chief Guest of the programme Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata. The short and meaningful recitation of Dr. Rajyasri Neogy uplifted the standard of the programme from its very initiation. Total 41 students attended the programme actively. 31 1st Semester Honours students and 5 students each participated from 3rd and 5th Semester Honours Class. Head of the Department of History, Dr. Samiparna Rakshit formally welcomed the freshers to the department and initiated the short cultural function which was solely arranged by the senior students of the department. The number of students’ participation was restricted to 50 as the college authority strictly adhered covid protocol of offline management of college and university regulated by Govt. of West Bengal. The programme continued for 1 and half hours. Students and teachers both participated actively by presenting their song, short speech, dance and recitation. The programme was ended with vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit and an arrangement of refreshment for the student participants of the department.
