ONLINE SPECIAL LECTURE PROGRAMME

Topic: The Battle of Plassey and its Consequences
An Online Special Lecture Programme was organized for the 5th Semester Honours students by Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata, West Bengal on 24th September 2021 at 4 PM. The programme was inaugurated virtually by Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College by delivering an enriching inaugural speech. The whole programme was conducted by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, Head of the Department, Department of History, VJRC and the Convenor of the programme. In this programme a lecture was delivered on the topic “The Battle of Plassey and its Consequences” by Dr. Chandrakala Datta, Associate Professor, Department of History, Muralidhar Girls’ College, Kolkata which is one the topics of the Honours syllabus of the University of Calcutta. Total 44 students of 5th Semester Honours of both Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College and Muralidhar Girls’ College and 5 teachers actively participated in this programme on Google meet platform. The students actively participated in the Question Answer session of 20 minutes which was followed by the lecture. At the end a vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, HOD, Department of History.
