ONLINE STUDENTS’ SEMINAR

Topic: History of Medical College in Bengal & Pundit Madhusudan Gupta
An Online Students’ Seminar was organized for the Honours students of all the three semesters (1st, 3rd and 5th) of different colleges of West Bengal by Department of History, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Kolkata, West Bengal on 17th December 2021 at 6.30 PM. The theme of the seminar was ‘History of Medical College in Bengal & Pundit Madhusudan Gupta’. The honourable speaker was Dr. Shankar Kumar Nath, renowned Oncologist. In the beginning Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College. The whole programme was conducted by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, Head of the Department, Department of History, VJRC. Dr. Samiparna Rakshit who was also the Convenor of the seminar, formally introduced the speaker, Dr. Shankar Kumar Nath to the participants. Dr. Nath delivered an extremely interesting lecture on the above-mentioned topic that enthralled the listeners with his ppt presentation for 2 long hrs. Total 100 Honours students and faculties of various colleges of Kolkata and vicinity areas actively participated in this Online Seminar on Google meet platform. The students actively participated in the Question Answer session of 15 minutes which was followed by the lecture. The seminar culminated with the deliverance of a vote of thanks by Dr. Samiparna Rakshit, HOD, Department of History.
