Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Advisor: Dr. (Prof.) Edwin Michael
2017- 2018
Worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the inter-disciplinary Global Epidemiology and Biostatistics groupled by Prof. Edwin Michael at the University of Notre Dame in the Department of Biological Sciences and the Eck Institute for Global health. Research Project highlights:
· Develop new Mathematical models, data assimilation and computational frameworks for modeling neglected vector-borne parasitic infections, focusing on diseases ranging from Lymphatic Filariasis, Onchocerciasis toDengue.
· Mathematicalmodelconstruction, Bayesian calibration and analysis using both analytical and numerical methods.
· Application of models to diverse data in order to improve learning of disease dynamics, inform effective control and eradication strategies and guide the development of new computing approaches to discovery of models, data and interventions.

Graduate Researcher,
Advisor: Dr. (Prof.) Guruprasad Samanta
January, 2011- May, 2016
· Explored ecology, epidemiology and eco-epidemiology from a mathematical modelling perspective to explain the systems and to study their dynamical behavior.
· Considereddifferenttypesofecologicalmodelsinmyresearchworksuchasprey-predator population models with different types of response functions (Lotka-Volterra response function, Holling type-I, II, III, IV response functions, ratio-dependent response functions etc.), single species population model affected by polluted environment, population model with competition and harvesting etc.
· Incorporated Allee effect and refuge in models depending on the ecological system and also included time delays to make the model systems more realistic.
· Developed compartmental susceptible-infectious-recovered ordinary differential equation models on different types of epidemic diseases such as tumor-immune system with chemotherapy and immunotherapy, Chlamydia, HIV/AIDS, Hand-Foot-Mouthdisease etc. Also developed some drug abuse and alcohol abuse epidemic models.
· Considered two main intervention policies: treatment and vaccination depending on the nature of the disease. Because of implicit understanding that the most of the drugs have some damaging side effects optimal control problems are framed in the models so that the epidemic can be controlled and the total amount of drugs used can be minimized.
· Developed some predator-prey models with infectious disease in prey or in predator or in both populations to merge ecology and epidemiology as the effect of infectious disease on the ecological system controls the size of the populations.
· Used methods to understand those ecological, epidemiological and eco-epidemiological models include existence and stability analysis of various equilibria, persistence theory, techniques to find important threshold values, bifurcations and other dynamical behaviors, sensitivity analysis and simulations with validation using data when possible.
· Used the fourth order Runge-Kutta method to solve the ordinary differential equations and used software like MATLAB, MATHEMATICA, C, C++ etc. for simulation purposes.
