Dr. Swarnali Sharma, HOD (PhD, Postdoc)

I am presently working as HOD and Assistant Professor in Department of Mathematics, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College. Before joining this Institute, I was working as an Assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata from 2012-2019. I have completed my B.Sc and M.Sc in Mathematics from Jadavpur University in the year of 2008 and 2010 respectively. After that I have qualified CSIR-UGC NET in 2010 and joined as Junior research fellow in the Department of Mathematics, IIEST Shibpur in 2011. After completion of my PhD in Mathematical modelling in ecology and epidemiology in 2016 I have worked as Postdoctoral Research Associate in the inter-disciplinary Global Epidemiology and Biostatistics group led by Prof.Edwin Michael at the University of Notre Dame, USA for 2 years (2017 and 2018). My primary research interest lies in modelling infectious diseases and ecological systems to investigate dynamic behaviour of those systems. I have published more than 30 research papers in reputed international Journals and 4 book chapters in National and International books.
