MATHEMAGIC: an Inter-college Quiz competition for UG Students and Inter-college Essay competition for UG students on “Recent Trends in Mathematics”

DESCRIPTIONS OF THE PROGRAMME:
The Department of Mathematics, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray college in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, K.K.Das college conducted an offline an Inter-college Quiz competition for UG Students and an Inter-college Essay competition for UG students on “Recent Trends in Mathematics” on 22nd December, 2021 to celebrate the National Mathematics Day 2021: the 134th Birth Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan at 12 NOON onwards in the Virtual room, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray college. Students of eight different colleges of South Kolkata (Behala College, Asutosh College, K.K.Das College, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, Netaji Nadar Day College, New Alipore College, Sammilani College) had participated in those competitions. 2 participants from each college took part as a team in quiz competition. Behala college stood 1st, Asutosh College stood 2nd and Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College stood 3rd in Quiz competition. All the participants of quiz competition got certificate of participation and the winners got prize and certificate of merit. Essays of 9 participants were selected for publication in a booklet published by Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College. All the participants of essay competition go the certificate of appreciation. A total of 35 participants took part in this event following the covid protocols. The event ended with a vote of thanks from the IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Prasenjit Das.
