Departmental Activities

Department of Bengali and Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College was celebrated on 21.02.2021 (online- Google Meet)at7p.m. Onwards ‘International Mother Language Day’ as the world is continuing to battle the Covid-19 Pandemic. Organized cultural programme with poetry, recitation & songs. All the teaching, staff members & students participated. The programme started with words of inspiration from Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, who formally delivered the welcome speech and recited a poem. The cultural programme ended with a vote of thanks from the IQAC co-ordinator, Dr. Sampa Debnath . Department of Bengali and Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College conducted an online Inter College Cultural Competition-2021 (Bhara Thak Smriti Sudhay-Manone O Shradhay Kobi Pronam) on 10th july,2021, at 4pm onwards. The competition was Tagore songs, Njrul Geeti and Rabindra Tagore’s, Kazi Najrul Islam’s Poem Recitation. Almost 80 students from various colleges participated this competition and perform their programme on Google Meet (The Online Platform of the competition). The aforesaid competition completed in presence of three external judges as well as resource persons, namely Prof. Sikha Chatterjee , Assistant Professor, Sangeet Bhavana, Viswa Bharati university , Rituparna Bandopadhyay , popular Najrul Geeti Singer, Godhuli Mukherjee, Head Mistress, Baranagar Mohan Girls’ High School and also present this programme two internal judges , namely Dr. Sutapa Ghosh Thakur, SACT, Department of History and Mr. Uttam kumar Mukherjee, SACT, Department of Bengali. The competition started with valuable words of inspiration from Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, who formally inspired the competitors. Dr. Mrinal Birbanshi, Assistant Professor &Head of the Department, Bengali and also programme coordinator welcome speech for competitors and the Hon’ble judges. Finally the judges have performed their own performance. The programme ended with a vote of thanks from the IQAC Coordinator Dr. Prasenjit Das and the participants were provided with e-participation certificate for attending the competition and each event First, Second, Third position holders were provided prize. Department of Bengali and English, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College jointly organized by free online Add-On Certificate course titled ‘Certificate Course on Proof- Reading & Editing’. The aforesaid course inaugurated by Dr. Rajyasri Neogy, Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College on17.12.2021 at 1.30pm Onwards and delivered her valuable speech and also explanation, importance of the Add-On course about proof-reading and editing. This online inauguration ceremony enlightened Dr. Ramkrishna Prasad Chakraborty, Principal of K.K.Das College , Kolkata. Dr. Chakraborty delivered valuable speech among the participants and explained opportunities this Add-On course. The joint coordinators Dr. Mrinal Birbanshi and Dr. Swati Roychowdhury simplify and clarification about the course. Dr. Birbanshi said the background and history of printing system and proof-reading. Dr. Amalendu Majumder, HOD of Education inspired the participants. The inauguration programme ended with a vote of thanks Dr. Anuradha Goswami, Associate professor of Bengali Department. A total of 279 participants registration this course, from various semester and department. After completion of certificate course all participants would be get certificate. Department of Bengali, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College the students mentoring program was organized on 23.12.2021 of college campus offline mode , room no 207. This program conducted by all faculties of Bengali Department. Department of Bengali arranged a student seminar of college Campus, room no307on29.12.2021 at 2pm Onwards. Offline student seminar titled ‘Lock-Down O New Normal Samosya O Uttoron’. Number of seven speakers among the student directly participated. All of speakers explained their speech nicely. Dr. Rajyasri Neogy , Principal of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College inaugurated aforesaid student program and delivered inspired speech among the student . So many students present this offline program. Mr. Uttam Kumar Mukherjee arranged and guides the student. Ended program the HOD Dr. Mrinal Birbanshi performed a folk song .
