Welcome you all to the Department of Economics of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College. It is the vibrant and most dynamic department of our college. The department is committed to fostering a stimulating intellectual environment. All the faculty members of our department committed to teach the students with sincerity and full of dedication. 

The Department provides its students with a number of opportunities to develop their overall personality by participating in the various cultural and co-curricular activities held throughout the year. The faculty members of the department take very active role in organizing different activities like seminars, conferences, workshops etc. In addition to the central library of our college, we are equipped with the Departmental Library with good number of books. During study at the department, the students are encouraged to participate different extensive activities socio-economic field study to get hands – on experience to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical experience. At the same time students are encouraged to participate in making social awareness on different environmental issues. Each year our department published E-Magazine and offer Value Added Courses.
