From the Desk of Head of the Department

The Department of Chemistry, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College is one of the premier departments in the West Bengal today. The strength of the department has been and continues to be excellence in research and teaching. The Department of Chemistry has 7 faculty and three non-teaching staff.

The faculty of the department is extremely well qualified, and motivated with a strong commitment to teaching and research. The alumni base of the department slowly increasing, and many of them have occupied teaching and research (doctoral, postdoctoral, scientist) positions in academia in India and abroad. Their accomplishments have been outstanding and reflect the quality training imparted at the undergraduate levels. We suggest all prospective students and other visitors explore our website to learn more about our department. Since inception of the institute, the Department is sincerely engaged in teaching the students of different engineering courses in UG levels. The Department regularly organizes, Workshops, Seminars and Conferences which bring together nationally renowned scientists, persons engaged in academics and industry.
