I was graduated B.Sc (Hons.) in Zoology from the University of Calcutta in the year 2001 with 1^st Class. After completing my M.Sc in Microbiology in the year 2003 from the University of Kalyani with 1^st class and qualifying CSIR-NET in Life Sciences for JRF in the same year, I joined the Bose Institute, Kolkata in 2004 as a JRF for a brief period. After joining Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College in 2005 through the West Bengal College Service Commission recommendation as a lecturer (Assistant Professor Grade 1 from 2006) I completed my PhD from the University of Kalyani in Microbiology in the year 2014.

My academic interests include Environmental & Agriculture Microbiology, Immunology, Eukaryotic Genetics and Cell Biology. I have 11 publications in journals and books. Besides, I have delivered lectures in 11 seminars/workshops etc. apart from guiding 16 students for their dissertations/internships. Details are included in my CV.

Now I have been performing my duties as the Head of The Department since 2010 apart from several other administrative duties including IQAC Coordinator, NIRF Nodal officer, RUSA Coordinator, AISHE Nodal Officer, and NSP Nodal officer to name a few.
