Short Overview
I have obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Sammilani Mahavidyalaya (affiliated to University of CU) and Master's Degree in Microbiology from University of Calcutta. I was awarded Ph.D degree in 2013 from the Department of Food Technology & Biochemical Engineering, Jadavpur University.
I qualified SLET in 2006 and joined as Assistant Professor (Stage I) in the Department of Microbiology, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College in 2008. Currently I am Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College.
Currently I am working on a project titled ' ISOLATION OF A NOVEL CHROMIUM TOLERANT FUNGAL STRAIN FROM TANNERY EFFLUENT AND USE OF ITS BIOMASS FOR BIOSORPTION OF HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM'.
the project is funded by West Bengal Higher Education, Science & Technology and Biotechnology.
Two research scholars are working under my guidance.
I have guided 4 students in their summer project activity.
I have guided many students in their review work and project proposal writing which is a part of their curriculum.
I have publications in National and International Peer Reviewed Journals.
